There is no better way to show appreciation for your loved ones, than gifting them! This may be by gifting them something that you know they have wanted for a while, or just something that you think they might need. In this blog post, we will be focusing on self-care items they might need.
I am sure you can agree with me that, self-care items are things that we will never stop needing and can never have too much of.
The great thing about self-care packages is that it does not have to be a one-time thing. You can always create these cute packages periodically for your loved ones. These can be for birthdays, anniversaries, other special occasions or you just want to randomly gift them.
Now the list below is based on what I currently would love to receive in a self-care package. But of course, you do not have to limit yourself to this list. You know the recipient of the self-care package more than I. And you should also consider the availability of the items, and your own budget.
Here are 8 of the cutest self-care package ideas for your family:
- Vouchers and gift cards
- Incense
- Candles
- Body butters
- Journals and planners
- Framed photo
- Silk Pillowcase
- Books
1.Vouchers and gift cards
Adding vouchers and/or gift cards is a great way to personalise self-care packages. Especially if the recipient loves to shop, and you gift them with a voucher and/or gift card from their favourite store.
2. Incense
If your family is into incenses, this is a perfect self-care item to gift them. Incenses are not only great to help you relax and unwind but it is also a great indoor fragrance and insect repellent.
Sandalwood and Jasmin Blossom incense are great options. Sandalwood cleanses your space for any type of meditation or rituals, and it aids in sleep. Jasmin Blossom smells really good, and it is said to bring in good luck and fortune.
I usually buy a box of 12 different types of incenses from Amazon. The ones I buy come with a variety of incense smells. So not only is it cost-effective, but you get a chance to try a range of incense scents, and your loved ones get a different scent depending on which one you think they will like.
This incense pack includes my favourite scents that are Sandalwood, Rain Forest, Jasmin Blossom and Romance. I am more into light and flowery incenses. So if I had to choose two out of the ones listed prior, I’d choose Rain Forest and Romance.
If you are into more musky and stronger incenses, this gift set includes the Midnight Incense which is a mixture of tobacco and vanilla scent. It is a very sexy smell, indeed.
3. Candles
If you do not want to include incense in the self-care package, candles are an amazing alternative. Depending on how large or small you want to make your family’s self-care package, you have a range of options to choose from.
Whether this is a Yankee candle or a Rituals candle, there is range of candles to suit your budget!
My current favourite candles are from Cristalinas, specifically the Cherry Blossom Dream candle. This HAS TO BE my favourite affordable candle. It smells amazing, the scent really fills the room, and the smaller sizes have an average of a 30-hour burn.
The most amazing thing about this candle is that it burns pretty evenly compared to other candles I have had in the past. I got this candle gifted to me and now I’m on my way to purchase another.
4. Art Prints
Personal care items such as body butter are great items to add, and it a pretty popular idea for self-care packages. Because even if your loved one does not like how the formula of the body butter feels on the body, they could always repurpose it as a hand cream.
But I know a lot of people, do NOT like receiving personal hygiene gifts. If this is the case with a member of your family, you can always gift them with cute art prints.
These can be simple art prints that suit their style and home decor. Or just something they’d like to keep to themselves.
Some of you might be thinking, ‘how are prints part of self-care?’ and this is a fair perspective, that very much depends on what brings you joy. But a few people, like myself, adore having prints to add to an art wall collection.
If you are gifting a younger member of your family, stickers are always great alternatives. Another fun alternative is coloring books. And you can always find these in your local big supermarket store, or art stores
5. Journals and Planners
You can never have too many journals or planners. This is what I’d consider as a life essential.
Opt for blank paper journals to make them fully customizable for your loved ones. For planners, the more detail it requires you to fill out, the better. This way it better helps structure their day.
Journals and planners are amazing self-care gifts, because it encourages people to care for their mental being.
6. Framed photo
A nostalgic photograph that reminds you of a fun family time. Or you can take it all the way back and it can be a baby picture of either of you or both of you together.
It doesn’t have to be anything serious. A silly picture for example, makes it even more special!
If you consider yourself to be a DIY enthusiast, then making and customizing the frames yourself is a great idea as it adds that personal touch.
A gift that sparks joy is one to be treasured.
7. A silk pillowcase
A silk pillowcase is something that not a lot of people know they need until they actually have it. There are so many benefits to owning a silk pillowcase over a cotton one. Once you own a silk pillowcase you will never want to use a cotton one, ever again.
If you’re a bit tight on budget, an amazing alternative is a satin pillowcase. They literally have the same benefits and feel just as good. The only difference is that the silk material is more of a fancier option.
A silk or satin pillowcase is amazing to help improve the quality of your sleep. It also helps to maintain your skin and hair and is helpful for allergies.
This is a self-care gift that your loved ones will immensely appreciate because of how it is so helpful to their everyday life.
